This morning we drove to nearby German town, Berchtesgaden, a beautiful town surrounded by the stunning Bavarian Alps.
After a stroll through the Old Town and a coffee and cake stop, we made our way to Königssee, a stunning glacial lake. Known for its emerald-green water and surrounded by towering mountains, it is often regarded as one of the most beautiful lakes in Germany.
Our next stop was a filming location of The Sound of Music – the hills just outside of the Austrian town, Werfen.
The views of the mountains and the Hohenwerfen Castle are amazing and it is just cool to be walking on the plateau where the picnic scene from the movie was filmed.
