After driving just under 5 hours from Kotor, we arrived in our 12th country – Bosnia and Herzegovina and are staying in the capital, Sarajevo for the night.
Sarajevo, is a small city on the Miljacka River, surrounded by the Dinaric Alps and our Airbnb is walking distance from the Old Town.
Sarajevo gained global attention when it became the site of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria in 1914. This event sparked the beginning of World War I.
We only had one night in town, so we went for a wonder through the Old Town straight away. The kids stocked up on some souvenirs and we had dinner in the old bazaar, right next to the Sebilj Fountain.
