It was another 3 hours drive from Split to the beautiful Dubrovnik.

Day 1

We headed straight to our apartment and after a bit of relaxing, we walked (only a 15 minute walk) down the steep steps to the Old Town. The Old Town of Dubrovnik is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is renowned for its well-preserved medieval walls, built between the 13th and 17th centuries. The walls stretch approximately 1.9km and offer stunning panoramic views of the city and the Adriatic Sea.

Dubrovnik gained global recognition as a filming location for the popular TV series Game of Thrones. Many iconic scenes representing the fictional city of King’s Landing were filmed in Dubrovnik’s Old Town.

Even though it is our third time in Dubrovnik, we still appreciate the beauty of this old city.

Day 2

It is another stunning 30 degree day, so we decided to take the kids to Sunset Beach, only 2.5km from the Old Town, in Lapad bay.

The beautiful pebble beach with calm, clear water has a number of beach chairs and umbrellas for rent or even lounge chairs at 30EUR per person at one of the bars. Just around the corner from the first busy beach area, we opted for a public shady spot and the kids had a great time.

On the way back to the apartment we drove up Observation Hill to enjoy the panoramic views of the Old Town and the Island of Lokrum.
