Day 1

Our flight from Dubai arrived at London Heathrow around 4.00pm and our friend, Travers, was there to pick us up.

We are staying in their lovely home in Woking, about 50km from Central London, and it was so great to meet him and Ciara’s gorgeous boys. We miss you Ciara!

Day 2

London greeted us again today with perfect sunshine so we decided to start our London sightseeing on top of a Hop-On-Hop-Off bus tour.

The kids loved seeing all the famous sights in person and it was so surreal being back here after we left almost exactly 15 years ago!

Travers treated us to another beautiful home cooked dinner and we love getting to know the boys.

Day 3

We headed into to London Waterloo station again today and went straight to the Natural History Museam with so much to see and learn about the history of life on earth, from the smallest insects to the largest mammals.

To finish off our second sightseeing day, we went to see the world famous The Lion King musical – running for the last 24 years at the Lyceum Theatre. As expected it was amazing and the colourful costumes and stage transformations absolutely fantastic.

Back in Woking, Travers took us on a drive through the beautiful Surrey coutryside with a swing by Shere – the quant village where ‘The Holiday’ was filmed.

DAY 4

Today was a lazy, rest day catching up on work and some washing.

DAY 5

We headed back into London for a final day of sightseeing and our first stop was Covent Garden for a coffee and some entertaining street performers.

The lovely, sunny weather made for a good walk through Leicester Square, Picadilly Circus, a stop at the Lego store (the biggest in the world!) and of course, Hamleys – the oldest toy store in the world (263 years old!).

It is our last night with the Barr family and we all went our for an awesome local pub dinner.

Next stop: Paris
