We spent the night in a very small town, Grauno, in the Italian Alps. The lovely neighbour met us in the town’s car park and took us up a very steep little hill to the apartment.
Grauno, located about 25 kilometres northeast of Trento, has only 150 inhabitants with no shops, but a nice playground at the bottom of the town so the kids had a ball with the some of the local children.
After spending the night in the Italian Alps, we hit the road – a winding road – through the Dolomites.
The Dolomites, located in northeastern Italy, is a breathtaking mountain range (it really is!) renowned for its stunning natural beauty and unique geological features. It is a huge skying destination in winter with ski lifts and chairs everywhere. Hiking and cycling are very popular summer activities and the area was buzzing with activity.
We drove through many picturesque little towns and villages and stopped at a couple of quaint spots for coffee and photos before arriving in Slovenia for our overnight stop.
