After 4 nights in Rome, we are on the road again and today we are adding another country to our list – the fifth-smallest country in the world – San Marino.
San Marino, just over 300km from Rome, is one of the oldest republics in the world, with a history dating back over 1,700 years.
On the slopes of Monte Titano sits the capital, also called San Marino, known for its medieval walled old town and narrow cobblestone streets.
We didn’t really know what to expect and was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful little town with The Three Towers of San Marino perched on the slopes of Mount Titano and stunning panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
We very quickly found a beautiful little spot for a quick coffee and after walking through the Old Town, we enjoyed a nice Spritz (it’s becoming an Italian tradition for us!) right on the side of the mountain.
Our Airbnb apartment for the night was about an hour from San Marino in a small town, Cesena where we stayed on the top floor of a local family’s home.
