On our way to Switzerland, we stopped at the Aletsch Glacier – located near the border between Switzerland and Germany.

The Aletsch Glacier is the largest glacier in the Alps, spanning about 23 kilometers in length. It covers an area of approximately 81.7 square kilometers and was formed during the last ice age, about 18,000 years ago. It originated from several smaller glaciers in the Jungfrau region and gradually merged to form the Aletsch Glacier.

We managed to get the last cable car up and had 20 minutes to spend at the top of the mountain. It is absolutely stunning and very impressive to see up close.

Next stop: Saas-Balen
