Lake Geneva is not far from where we are staying, so we decided to make a day of it and to drive around the beautiful lake and visit three Swiss cities across the border.
Geneva was the first stop at the iconic Jet d’Eau, a 140-meter-high water fountain and a prominent landmark on the lakefront.
Geneva is often referred to as the “International City” because it hosts numerous international organisations and institutions, including the United Nations, the World Health Organisation, the International Red Cross, and the World Trade Organisation.
We found a lovely little spot for the kids to have a quick swim in Lake Geneva.
Our next stop was Lausanne where the kids had a play in a playground in front of the Château d’Ouchy, a historic castle turned into a luxury hotel. The weather was lovely and there was a lively atmosphere with people swimming and paddling in the lake.
The last stop for the day was Montreux and on the way there we drove past the terraced Lavaux Vineyards and the medieval Chillon Castle on the shores of the lake.

Montreux and Zermatt were two of my favourite places in Switzerland. First visited Montreux in 1953.
It is such a beautiful part of the world!
