We have arrived in our 19th country – Switzerland!
Our apartment is in a little village in the Swiss Alps, Saas-Balen. As part of our accommodation we each got a Saastal Card which allows us free entry onto the multiple cable cars in the area.
The first trip up was to Hohsaas from Saas-Grund, a neighbouring village. This mountain area is known for its impressive altitude. The cable car takes you up to an elevation of 3,100m with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.
From the cable car station we climbed up even more, found 2 small lakes and got very close to the Trift Glacier.
Back down in the next village, Saas-Fee, we all went on a fun toboggan ride.
