We left Saas-Balen this morning and drove to Täsch where we got on the Zermatt shuttle train. Zermatt is a car-free village, and vehicles are prohibited to preserve the tranquility and clean air of the area. The only motorised vehicles you will find in Zermatt are electric taxis and service vehicles.
Zermatt is famous for the iconic Matterhorn, one of the most recognised mountains in the world – standing at 4,478m.
The town is of course a very popular winter sport destination, but it is buzzing in the summer too. We strolled through the town, stopped at a playground for the kids to burn off some energy and then made our way back to our car in Täsch for the drive to our next destination.
